Feb 2, 2000 - Hudson - NH - 1 alarm kitchen fire - 9 Ridgecrest Drive - One resident was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation the fire caused minor damage to the home.

May 24, 2001 - Nashua - NH - 4 alarm apartment building fire - 18 Arlington Street - The fire was in a 3 story brick apartment building. On arrival of crews, heavy fire and smoke were showing from floor #2 of the building. Two people were rescued over ground ladders by Nashua crews. A Hudson engine responded to the scene.

 

May 29, 2001 - Hudson - NH - Pallet storage yard fire - West Road - A permit fire spread to stacks of wooden pallets of 100’ by 50’ piled ten high. A ladder pipe and several hand lines controlled the fire.

 

Jun 14, 2001 - Hudson - NH - 1 alarm bathroom fire - 12 A Lenny Lane - A propane leak sparked a fire in the first floor bathroom. Crews contained the fire to the room of origin. One resident suffered injuries during the fire.

 

Jun 15, 2001 - Derry - NH - 2 alarm junk yard fire - Island Pond Road - 75 junk cars burned requiring help from 10 area departments including a Hudson tanker

 

Jun 16, 2001 - Hudson - NH - Car crash & 3 alarm Haz-Mat with evacuations - Central Street/4 Park Ave - A single car into a pole caused a power outage which shut down a processing system at a business a mile from the scene causing a machine to overheat sending toxic fumes into the air. The SMART Team was called to the scene and area homes were evacuated.

 

 

 

 

Aug 3, 2001 - Hudson - NH - Severe thunderstorms fire/floods - A severe line of thunderstorms hit the area. A shed located at 215 Lowell Road was hit by lightning sparking a fire. On arrival, the shed was fully involved. Four inches of rain fell on the area in 1 hour causing severe flooding on Library Street and the Library Street School. Engine 2 drafted for 30 minutes pumping a 1000 gallons a minute from the rear parking lot of the school. Two floater pumps were also brought to the area pumping for several hours. Crews responded to 43 calls related to the storms.

 

Aug 16, 2001 - Nashua - NH - 4 alarm apartment building fire - Haines Street - A Hudson engine responded to the scene of the 4 alarm 2 ½ story apartment building fire. Crews were hampered by high humidity and 90 degree temperatures.

 

Sept 11, 2001 - New York City Manhattan, the Pentagon and Pennsylvania - Terrorists crash planes into the two 110 story World Trade Center Buildings. Both buildings collapse killing 343 Firefighters and over 2,800 civilians. Hundreds killed and injured after a plane is flown into the Pentagon in Washington DC and all aboard a flight over Pennsylvania were killed after passengers tried to take control of a plane taken over by terrorists and crashed into a field.

 

Sept 15, 2001 - Hudson - NH - 2 alarm house fire - 19 Brook Drive - On arrival, the split level house was fully involved. No water in the area hampered crews controlling the fire.

 

Sept 20, 2001 - Hudson - NH - members of the department deliver 17 tons of food and other supplies donated by town residents and businesses to rescue workers in New York City.

 

Oct 2, 2001 - Hudson - NH - Plane Crash - Steele Road - Green Meadow Golf Course - A twelve seater 2 prop plane suffered an engine failure and crashed landed on the golf course. Three persons on the plane suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.

 

Oct 7, 2001 - Hudson - NH - 2 alarm house fire with special calls - 13 Cathedral Lane - On arrival, a 3 stall garage attached to a 2 story home was fully involved. Crews stopped the fire from spreading into the home. Two residents and 1 firefighter were treated at the scene for injuries.

Dec 6, 2001 - Hudson - NH - 2 alarm house fire - 20 Hazelwood Drive - heavy smoke was showing from a ranch style home on arrival of crews. One firefighter was injured battling the blaze. One Guinea Pig rescued.

Jan 24, 2002 – Hudson – NH – Boy rescued from well – A 4 year old boy fell over 20 feet into an abandoned well. Hudson Firefighter Eric Lambert was lowered into the well in order to rescue the boy. Boy was treated and released from hospital.

Mar 2, 2002 - Hudson - NH - Fatal motorcycle accident - 43 Boyd Road - A motorcyclist died from injuries he suffered after his motorcycle struck a telephone pole.      

 

Mar 18, 2002 - Hudson - NH - Fatal car accident - 111 Wason Road - A 16 year-old boy died after he lost control of his car on a snow covered road striking a group of trees and coming to rest in a brook. On arrival of crews, the car was partially submerged.

Apr 17, 2002 - Windham - NH - 2 alarm building fire - Range Road - A rekindle in the same building as the earlier 5 alarmer required the response of a Hudson engine to the scene.

 

Apr 30, 2002 - Hudson - NH - Haz - Mat - gasoline spill - Lowell Road Haffners Gas Station - A gas pump spilled over 100 gallons of gasoline into the parking area of the gas station. The SMART Team and extensive mutual aid and foam were called to the scene.

May 11, 2002 - Windham - NH - 3 acre brush fire - A 3 acre brush fire located 1 mile into the woods required a Hudson Engine, forestry and a State Forest truck to control the fire.

 

Sept 2, 2002 - Hudson - NH - Police shoot out - Derry Street - A murder suspect fired on police officers who returned fire. Fire crews checked the suspect who died at the scene from gunshot wounds.

 

Oct 5, 2002 - Hudson - NH - Firefighter Eric Lambert was awarded the first ever awarded Medal of Valor for a rescue of a four year old boy from a well on January 24, 2002.

 

Oct 16, 2002 - Hudson - NH - Golf Cart fire - Steele Road - Sixteen golf carts were fully involved on arrival of the first due engine. The fire was contained to the carts.

Nov 27, 2002 - Litchfield - NH - Fatal motor vehicle accident - 163 Charles Bancroft Highway - One person died from injuries she suffered after the car she was riding in was struck. The Jaws of Life were needed to free the victim.

 

Nov 5, 2002 - Hudson - NH - Haz - Mat - 182 Lowell Road PMA - A mixture of cleaning fluids sent fumes throughout the several floors of the building. Several people had to be assisted from the building.

 

Dec 8, 2002 - Nashua - NH - 3 alarm apartment building fire - 16 Fletcher Street - The large 2 ½ story building was heavily involved on arrival of Nashua crews and three alarms were quickly called. A Hudson engine assisted at the scene.

 

Dec 8, 2002 - Hudson - NH - Fatal motor vehicle accident - 193 Lowell Road - A head-on crash took the life of a 60 year-old female.

 

Dec 17, 2002 - Hudson - NH - 2 alarm auto body shop fire - 2 Stuart Street - Heavy smoke was showing on arrival of the first due engine. In a short time, heavy fire burned through the roof.

 

Feb 17, 2003 - Pelham - NH - 3 alarm apartment building fire - Highland Ave - Two units of the eight unit building sustained heavy damage during the fire. A Hudson engine and companies from three other towns responded to the scene.  

 

Feb 27, 2003 - Windham - NH - 2 alarm house fire - 32 Kendell Pond Road - A Hudson engine and tanker assisted knocking down the fire in the 1 ½ story single family home.

 

Apr 8, 2003 - Windham - NH - 3 alarm house fire - Nashua Road - Heavy fire was showing from the ranch style house on arrival of crews. A Hudson engine and two tankers assisted at the scene.

 

May 2, 2003 - Hudson - NH - Fatal motor vehicle accident - Central Street & Sullivan Road - One person died from his injuries and three others were taken to area hospitals after a tractor trailer truck and a car collided. The Jaws of Life were needed to free the trapped victims.

Jul 24, 2003 - Londonderry - NH - 2 alarm house fire - 7 Maplewood Road - A Hudson engine assisted at the scene.

 

Oct 16, 2003 - Hudson - NH - Firefighter Eric Lambert first ever Hudson Firefighter to receive the State of New Hampshire’s highest award. The Paul W. Sypek Award Medal of valor was presented to Firefighter Lambert for the rescue of a 4 year-old boy from a well on January 24, 2002.

 

Dec 15, 2003 - Hudson - NH - Haz -Mat with firefighter injury - Park Ave – Two Firefighters were treated after inhaling fumes from a build up of chemical fumes. The fumes tripped the alarm system in the building and were caused when a power failure shut down the ventilating system. The SMART Team and extensive mutual aid ambulances responded to the scene.

 

Dec 16, 2003 - Nashua - NH - 4 alarm building fire - Worcester Street - Ambulance 2 returning from the hospital discovered heavy fire coming from the large 2 ½ story apartment building and notified Nashua Fire. A Hudson engine along with the ambulance assisted at the scene. A resident was charged with arson.

 

Dec 30, 2003 - Hudson - NH - 2 alarm house fire - 9 Kestral Lane - An addition under construction suffered fire damage to a bedroom and attic. Pelham, Litchfield, Windham and Nashua crews assisted at the fire.

 

Jan 25, 2004 - Hudson - NH - 2 alarm house fire - 22 Madison Drive - An electrical fire sparked a fire in the basement of the single family ranch style home. Owner was sleeping at the time the blaze started and was awakened by his cat.

 

 

Jan 30, 2004 - Hudson - NH - 1 alarm shed fire - 13 Mobile Drive - A 1 story shed was destroyed and caused minor damage to a mobile home 5 feet away. A tanker from Litchfield was called to the scene.

 

Jan 31, 2004 - Hudson - NH - 3 alarm house fire - 33 Chagnon Drive - A three stall two story garage attached to the house was fully involved on arrival. Crews limited the spread of the fire to a small portion of the second floor and attic of the home. One Firefighter suffered a finger injury and Two Firefighters suffered minor burns.

 

Feb 3, 2004 - Hudson - NH - 1 alarm house fire - 140 Melendy Road - An elderly resident was carried out of the smoke filled home by first arriving crews as a fire started by a wood stove burned in the homes partitions.

 

Mar 1, 2004 - Hudson - NH - Fatal accidental fire - 10 Clark Street - An elderly resident set her clothing on fire suffering 3rd degree burns over half of her body and in her lungs. She died from her injuries on March 2nd.

 

Mar 4, 2004 - Hudson - NH - 2 alarm Hair Salon fire - 12 Dracut Road - A cigarette in a trash can sparked the fire that caused heavy fire damage to the second floor office/break room of the building. One Firefighter suffered burns to his face fighting the fire and was treated at a hospital and released.

 

Mar 22, 2004 - Litchfield - NH - 2 alarm house fire - Four Hudson companies responded to the scene at 285 Charles Bancroft Highway after a fire caused heavy damage to the rear of a 2 ½ story home.

 

Apr 1-2, 2004 - Hudson - NH - Town wide flooding - six inches of rain caused several streams to over flow their banks. Crew’s sand bagged several area homes to hold back the water the flood waters of Second Brook. One woman was rescued by crews when she drove her car into 6 feet deep water covering Bush Hill Road near Pelham Road. Several bridges and numerous homes suffered damage.

 

 

Apr 12, 2004 - Hudson - NH - working house fire - 37 Greeley Street - a room and contents fire caused moderate damage to a single family home.

 

Apr 24, 2004 - Hudson - NH - 1 alarm fire - 10 Blueberry Lane - A suspicious fire that began in the bushes in the front of the home caused minor damage to the siding and a smoke damage to the home.

 

Apr 29, 2004 - Hudson - NH - Rescue - 10 Stanley Ave - a tree cutter was injured while topping a large pine tree. The tree cutter fell 20’ feet becoming trapped 40’ off the ground. Crews used ropes and Ladder 2 to rescue the patient.

 

May 13, 2004 - Litchfield - NH - 2 alarm fire - 28 Arcadian Lane - A Hudson Engine and Tanker responded to the scene of the fully involved attached garage. A Hudson Ambulance transported one Litchfield Firefighter for smoke inhalation. 

 

May 20, 2004 - Hudson - NH - Fire Engine crash - Ferry at Library Streets - Engine 2 responding to an odor in the building call collided with a car. The car was pushed into the town common after the collision. No injuries took place but the engine and car suffered damage.

 

May 20, 2004 - Londonderry - NH - 3 alarm fire - Valley Hill Road - Hudson Engine 4 and Chief Rodgers responded to the scene that destroyed the condo complex club house.

 

May 23, 2004 - Dunstable - Mass - 2 alarm house fire - 143 Thorndike Street - Tanker 5 responded to the scene of the fire to assist with water supply. The house suffered heavy damage.

 

May 28, 2004 - Pelham - NH - 4 alarm fire - Pulpit Rock Road - A fire in the walls of a large commercial building required crews from Hudson, Windham, Salem, Londonderry and Dracut Mass to assist Pelham crews knock down the fire.

 

May 30, 2004 - Hudson - NH - first Med Flight request in Hudson history - A 14 year old girl with a bone disease broke her femur requiring immediate treatment at a Boston Hospital. Med Flight was called for the first time in Town to transport the girl.

 

Jun 8, 2004 - Pelham - NH - 2 alarm building fire - 33 Bridge Street - A fire in the ductwork of a large commercial building was contained by crews from Pelham, Hudson, Windham and Dracut Mass.

 

Jun 11, 2004 - Hudson - NH - fatal motor vehicle accident - Dracut Rd at Ponderosa Dr - A single vehicle motor vehicle accident claimed the life of the driver after the vehicle struck a large rock. The car at the time of the crash was traveling 104 miles per hour and fire crews needed 50 minutes and 3 rescue tools to free the victim from the vehicle.

 

Jun 13, 2004 - Tyngsboro - Mass - 5 alarm fire - 12 Village Lane - A large apartment building was destroyed after the fire tore through the building. A Hudson tanker responded to the scene. Crews from several towns laid over 7000 feet of hose to the fire scene for a water supply.

 

Jun 15, 2004 - Hudson - NH - fatal motor vehicle accident - Derry at Haverhill Streets - A single vehicle accident into a telephone pole claimed the life of the vehicles lone driver.

 

Jun 17, 2004 - Litchfield - NH - 2 alarm garage/house fire - 12 Cummings Drive - Six Hudson companies responded to the scene of the fire. The garage collapsed with the house suffering heavy damage.

 

Jul 8, 2004 - Windham - NH - 2 alarm house fire - Horseshoe Road - A Hudson engine and tanker along with companies from four other towns responded to the scene of a large 4 story home located on Cobetts Pond.

Aug 21, 2004 - Litchfield - NH - A 17 year-old boy drowns in the Merrimack River behind Wilson farms on the Charles Bancroft Highway. Crew searched the land areas and river finding him 12 hours after he was reported missing in 15 feet of water. Fire Departments from Litchfield, Hudson, East Derry, Windham, Londonderry, Auburn and Southeastern New Hampshire Haz-Mat Mutual Aid District Team operated at the

Scene.

 

Sept 4, 2004 - Hudson - NH - 2 alarm fire with rescue - Captain Steve Gannon and Firefighter Eric Lambert rescues a trapped occupant of a mobile home located at 14 Village Lane. On arrival, fire and smoke were showing from the building.

Sept 19, 2004 - Hudson - NH - 1 alarm fire - Dryer fire at 169 Highland Street with slight extension controlled in minutes by crews.    

 

Oct 4, 2004 - Hudson - NH - Tree cutting accident - A 45 year old man was killed after a tree he was cutting down fell on him causing severe chest, head and neck injuries. Responding crews had to remove the tree from on top of him before they could begin treatment.

 

Oct 31, 2004 - Hudson - NH - Fatal motor vehicle accident - Sherburne at Dracut Roads - A 75 year old female was killed when a second vehicle struck her car broadside. 3 ambulances and the rescue were needed to treat the patients.

 

Nov 5, 2004 - Pelham - NH - 3 alarm house fire - 5 Washington Street - Pelham - A large 100’ by 40 house was heavily involved on arrival. Crews from Hudson, Windham and Dracut Mass assisted at the scene.

 

Nov 5, 2004 - Litchfield - NH - working fire - 10 Arcadian Lane - A bedroom fire was controlled by crews from Litchfield, Hudson, Londonderry and Bedford. Three pets were rescued, but  two others died in the fire.

 

Nov 9, 2004 - Londonderry - NH - Tanker rollover - Rte 93 - a 10,000 gallon gasoline tanker rolled over spilling several hundred gallons of gas. Tanker 5 and crews from 5 other towns were on scene for 10 hours while the gas was cleaned up and the tanker was righted. 

 

Nov 13, 2004 - Windham - NH - 2 alarm house fire - 138 Londonderry Road - Tanker 5 and Ambulance 1 responded to the scene to assist with knocking down a fully involved 2 ½ story single family home. Engine 2 covered the Windham Station.

 

Nov 20, 2004 - Hudson - NH - fatal auto/pedestrian accident - A 39 year-old male was struck by a vehicle at 02:10 am in front of 77 Lowell Road. Crews transported the patient to the Med Center and he was transferred by helicopter to Boston were he died a few days later.

 

Jan 20, 2005 – Hudson – NH – working fire – A fire in the furnace room walls and ceiling caused minor fire and smoke damage at a home located at 21 Greeley Street.

 

Jan 21, 2005 – Litchfield – NH – 2 alarms – Seven pieces of Hudson apparatus responded to 72 Cutler Rd for a ranch style house that was fully involved on arrival. Fire companies from Nashua, East Derry, Pelham and Windham also assisted at the scene.

 

Jan 27, 2005 – Londonderry – NH – 2 alarms – Engine 2 responded to 50 Gilcrest Road for a fully involved sheet metal shop. Derry and Manchester also assisted at the scene.

 

Feb 4, 2005 – Hudson – NH – Working fire – A ceiling light at 2 Fulton Street caused minor fire and smoke damage to the 2 story apartment building.

 

Feb 19, 2005 – Hudson – NH – motor vehicle accident – Four ambulances, 4 engines, 1 rescue and a Medflight Helicopter were needed for a 2 vehicle head-on crash on Central Street near the Windham Line. Mutual aid from Windham and Litchfield assisted at the scene. First Med Flight in town’s history at a motor vehicle accident.

 

 

 

Mar 27, 2005 – Hudson – NH – Fatal motor vehicle accident – A pick up truck rolled-over at the intersection of Lawrence and Dugout Roads ejecting its two occupants. The driver died on the scene, the passenger suffered serious injuries and was Med Flighted to Boston were he died two days later. 

 

May 8, 2005 – Hudson – NH – Working fire – A suspicious fire at 26 Adams Drive injured two occupants and caused heavy damage to the single family home.

 

Jun 5, 2005 – Hudson – NH – 2 acre brush fire – A 2 acre brush fire off of Robinson Pond Drive required two extra engines and mutual aid from Litchfield to control.

 

Jun 5, 2005 – Hudson – NH - Propane leak – A vehicle struck an under ground propane tank breaking the valve off allowing gas vapor to flow from the 500 gallon tank. Mutual aid from Litchfield, Windham, Pelham, Derry, East Derry, Auburn, Londonderry and Tyngsboro Mass assisted Hudson crews for 7 hours to contain the leak.

 

Jun 5, 2005 – Hudson – NH – Working fire – While most Hudson units and several mutual aid companies worked to control a propane leak,  a kitchen fire caused damage to a duplex home at 187 A Robinson Road. Rescue 1 and Forestry 4 were assisted by fire companies from Nashua, Derry, Litchfield and Tyngsboro Mass to control the blaze.  

 

Jul 27, 2005 – Hudson – NH – Working fire – A lightning strike at 13 Rangers Drive caused a fire in the attic. At the time of the fire, all Hudson units were responding to other calls due to the severity of the storm. The fire was held to the attic of the duplex home.

 

Aug 14, 2005 – Hudson – NH – Fatal motorcycle accident – A single motorcycle accident at the intersection of Derry Street and Elm Ave claimed the life of the operator after he was thrown from his bike suffering severe head injuries.

 

Aug 26, 2005 – Londonderry – NH – 2 alarm house fire – Tanker 5 and Engine 2 responded to 23 Colonial Drive for a fully involved single family house. The house burned to the ground.

 

Oct 17, 2005Hudson – NH – Technical Rescue – Companies from Hudson and Nashua worked to rescue four stranded people from a pillar over the Merrimack River. Ropes were used to bring the men to shore. The river was flowing at about 6 knots and was at a high level due to a couple weeks of heavy rains.

 

Nov 10, 2005 – Hudson – NH – Working Fire – Heavy fire was showing from the rear of a 2-story single family home located at 33 Sousa Blvd. The fire caused heavy fire and smoke damage to the first floor.

 

Dec 25, 2005 – Hudson – NH – 2 alarms – On arrival of crews a 200 year-old home at 10 Dumont Road was fully involved. Three members received minor injuries after a back draft engulfed them causing minor burns. Crews from Nashua, Derry, Litchfield Londonderry and Tyngsboro Mass assisted at the scene.

 

Jan 10, 2006 – Hudson – NH – deck fire – On arrival crews found fire on a rear deck extending up the side of the 2-story home at 24A Lund Drive. The fire was quickly contained.

 

Feb 25, 2006 – Hudson – NH – A second alarm was struck when crews on arrival found the home at 4 Maureen Lane heavily involved in flames. Crews from Nashua, Litchfield, Pelham, Londonderry, Windham and Derry assisted at the scene.

 

Feb 25, 2006 – Hudson – NH – A rekindle of the earlier 2 alarm fire at 4 Maureen Lane again went to a second alarm on arrival when crews found heavy fire was coming from the roof. Crews from Nashua, Litchfield, Pelham, Windham, Londonderry, Derry and Tyngsboro Mass assisted at the scene.

 

Apr 2, 2006 – Pelham/Windham – NH – Several Hudson units responded to Castle Hill Road in Pelham to work in containing a 46 acre brush fire that burned under the power lines and threatened several homes. The towns of Hollis, Merrimack, Londonderry, Atkinson, Derry, Hampstead, Auburn along with Lowell and Dracut Mass were called to the scene. Several State Forest & Lands Units also responded to the scene.

 

May 13, 14, 15, 16, 2006 – Hudson & State – Severe flooding – Crews dealt with severe flooding across town after over 8 inches of rain fell in the area over the four days. The flooding has been listed as a flood of the century and was the second worst recorded flood in the area. Many homes were evacuated and numerous streets were flooded out with several bridges damaged.

 

July 1, 2006 – Hudson – NH – New Engine placed in service – A 2006 KME Predator with a 1500 gpm pump and 1000 gallon water tank placed in service.

 

July 11, 2006 – Hudson – NH – Garage fire – A working fire was struck for a 1 story to bay garage fire at 270 Lowell Road. Crews had the fire under control in a short time.

 

July 30, 2006 - Hudson – NH – Fatal motor vehicle accident – A 16 year old boy died from injuries on the scene after the car he was riding in struck a second car near 104 Old Derry Road. A second 16 year old boy was Med-Flighted to Boston for treatment of his injuries 2 others in the second car received minor injuries.

 

Aug 5, 2006 – Hudson – NH – 6 alarm pallet yard fire – Crews and apparatus from Hudson, Pelham, Nashua, Windham, Salem, Milford, Amherst, Hollis, Brookline, Bedford, Litchfield, Londonderry, Auburn, Chester, Candia, Sandown, Hampstead, Fremont, Goffstown and Tyngsboro Mass were needed to control a fire that involved a 100 foot long by 50 feet wide by 40 feet high area of wooden pallets.

 

Sept 10, 2006 – Hudson – NH - 2 alarm house fire – On arrival of first due companies at 13 Sycamore Street a single family ranch style home was fully involved. Crews and apparatus from Hudson, Pelham, Nashua, Windham, Litchfield, Londonderry, Tyngsboro Mass were needed to control the fire.

 

Oct 2, 2006 – Pelham – NH – 2 alarm house fire – Hudson sent an engine and ambulance to the scene of a house fire at 61 Webster Ave. 

 

Oct 3, 2006 – Hudson – NH – natural gas leak – an excavator working on Aster Court struck an underground gas line causing a leak the forces the evacuation of several area homes.

 

Oct 5, 2006 – Hudson – NH – propane leak – an out of control vehicle at 15 Hopkins Drive struck an underground 500 gallon propane tank shearing off the valve causing a leak. Several area homes were evacuated and mutual aid tankers from Pelham, Windham and Litchfield responded to the scene.

 

Oct 16, 2006 – Hudson – NH – 2 alarm house fire – A grease fire spread into the attic of a 2-story duplex home located at 5 Richman Drive. Heavy fire involved the roof area before crews could control the flames. Crews and apparatus from Hudson, Pelham, Nashua, Windham, Salem, Litchfield, Londonderry, Merrimack, Derry, and Tyngsboro Mass were needed to control the fire.

 

December 26, 2006 - 37 Cottonwood Drive working fire chimney fire spread to the first floor walls Nashua and Windham engines to the scene

 

January 6, 2007 – Hudson – NH – Lowell Road at Winn Ave – fatal auto/pedestrian accident.

 

January 15, 2007 – Hudson-NH – Major Ice Storm moved through area causing major power outages throughout Southern NH. Hudson Firefighters responded to over 220 calls in 24 hours.

 

January 19, 2007 – Hudson – NH – 77 River Road – fire destroyed one room of the 2 story cape style home. Two large python snakes along with several other animals were found dead in the fire room.

 

2/11/07 – Hudson – NH – 19 Rena Ave – a room and contents fire in a ranch style home heavily damaged one room and was held to one alarm by crews.

 

2/18/07 – Hudson – NH – 36 Webster Street – Crews held a partition fire around a fireplace to one alarm. Extensive overhaul was needed to completely extinguish the fire.

 

2/22/07 – Hudson – NH - 1 Stuart St – A working fire was called for a fire in the attic of the Daily Grind Restaurant. Crews vented the roof and a quick attack knocked down the fire in a short time.

 

2/22/07 – Hudson – NH – 36 Webster Street – A fire was sparked by a electrical outlet damaged by the February 18th, fire caused damage to the walls. Crews held the partition fire to one alarm.

 

2/24/07 – Hudson – NH - 9 Greenfield Drive - A roof fire sparked by a defective chimney was handled by the first alarm assignment. Ceilings and the roof had to be opened by crews to extinguish the fire.

 

3/1/07 – Hudson – NH - The department received a new ambulance built by Demers. The ambulance was built on a 2006 Ford F450 chassis and is equipped with many firsts for the department. The most notable is the color scheme all red with a large white star of life on both sides and yellow lettering.

 

3/13/07 – Hudson – NH - 23 Roosevelt Ave - numerous 911 calls were received reporting a shed fire. On arrival crews found a 30’ by 40’ vacant shed with heavy fire in the center of the building. Crews held the fire to one alarm.

 

3/23/07 – Hudson – NH - 38 Flying Rock Road – On arrival of Chief Murray, the homes occupant was lying on the front lawn suffering from smoke inhalation. Crews found heavy smoke on the second floor and a second alarm was called. The fire was held to the room of origin.

 

3/28/07 – Hudson – NH - 121 Derry Road - A small fire involving a deck and exterior of the split level home required extensive overhaul after a cigarette sparked the blaze.

 

3/29/07 – Hudson – NH – Robinson Road – A Red Flag warning and high winds spread a four acre brush fire requiring two engines, two forestry’s and a tanker from Hudson and mutual aid companies from Litchfield and Londonderry to contain.

 

4/22/07 – Hudson – NH – 216 Webster Street – Fatal motor vehicle accident – a single vehicle accident into a telephone pole that

claimed the life of the lone occupant. Crews used the rescue tool to remove the victim from the badly damaged vehicle.

 

5/3/07 – Litchfield – NH – Mayflower Drive – Three Hudson companies and several other mutual aid companies assisted

Litchfield containing a 4 acre brush fire.

 

5-10-07 – Windham – NH – 1 Timberland Road – A lightning strike sparked a fire in a 5000 + square foot home. Heavy fire

burned through the roof as 12 towns battled the blaze. Hudson Engine 2 and Car 2 responded to the scene.

 

5-11-07 – Hudson – NH – Sagamore Bridge – A single vehicle roll-over accident with entrapment required a Med Flight

Helicopter to standby at the scene as crews used several rescue tools and worked for 50 minutes to free the lone occupant of the pick-up truck. 

 

6-1-07 – Hudson – NH – Veterans Bridge – A motorcycle vs. bicycle accident left one patient with severe injuries who was

Med- Flighted to Boston and a second patient dying from his injuries. A Nashua Engine and ambulance assisted crews on the

scene.

 

6/5/07 – Hudson – NH – 2 Nicolls Circle - Landscapers backed into a under ground propane tank shearing off the shutoff causing

a leak that kept crews tied up over 5 hours while the remaining gas was removed from the tank.

 

6/18/07 Hudson – NH – 3 Bungalow Ave – Working fire – When crews were dispatched to the scene people were reported

trapped in the building. On arrival workers in the area had rescued the trapped resident. The fire involved the outside porch

roof of the small single family home.

 

6/24/07 – Hudson – NH - 23 Heritage Circle – Kitchen fire – Crews made quick work of a kitchen fire that involved the cabinets

and stove area of the home.

 

7/2/07 - Hudson – NH – 7 George Street – Haz-Mat – A Ammonia spill in the basement of the building required the building to be

evacuated. Crews quickly had the spill contained.

 

7/2/07 – Webster – Mass – Interstate 395 – Motor vehicle accident – Firefighters Jay Sliver and Mike Mallen returning with

Ladder 2 from a repair shop in Connecticut came upon a roll-over accident with entrapment. They treated the patient and began

extrication until the arrival of the Webster Fire Department.

 

7/6/07 – Derry – NH – 173 Rockingham Road – Two alarm building fire – Hudson Engine 2 and C 3 responded to the scene of

the large fully involved 2 story building fire.  Water to attack the fire was limited and the building burned to the ground. Eleven towns responded to the scene.

 

7/6/07 – Hudson – NH – 72 Kimball Hill Road – Working fire – A lightning strike hit a barn sparking a fire on the second floor of

the building. Extensive overhaul was needed to completely extinguish the fire.

 

7/11/07 – Hudson – NH – 155 Belknap Road - One alarm fire – A dryer fire caused minor damage to the 2 story home. One

firefighter was injured when he fell down a flight of stairs.

 

7/17/07 – Hudson – NH – Station 1 manned – Full-time crews began to man the Robinson Road Fire Station Tuesday thru Friday

07:30 to 18:00. The crew consisted of Captain Kevin Grebinar and Firefighters Kevin Blinn and Dennis Haerinck

 

7/29/07 – Pelham – NH – 125 Bridge Street – 3 alarm building fire – A Hudson Engine and two tankers responded to the scene of

a pizza restaurant. The caused heavy fire to the one story building.

 

8/6/07 – Hudson – NH – 26 Flying Rock Road – Working fire – On arrival heavy fire and smoke was showing from a garage fire

in a 2 story home. Crews from Nashua and Pelham assisted at the scene.

11/29/07 – Hudson – NH – 12 Gowing Road – Working Fire – The 1 story auto repair shop was heavily involved in fire on arrival of the first due company. A defensive attack was made with assistance of crews from Nashua, Pelham and Tyngsboro Mass.

12/12/07 – Hudson – NH – 20 Sandalwood Road – first alarm – A fire started in the wiring sparked a fire in the basement ceiling the fire was quickly controlled.

12/19/07 – Windham – NH – 31 Sawtelle Road – 3 alarms – Hudson Engine 2 and C2 along with companies from seven other towns assisted Windham in controlling a fire in a two story single family home.

12/30/07 – Hudson – NH – 10 Gloria Ave – working fire – a private alarm was received alerting crews to respond to the address when crews arrived they had heavy smoke showing and a report of people trapped.

1/5/08 – Hudson – NH – 7 Able Street – working fire – 13 storage units were involved in fire on arrival of crews and extra engine was called to the scene   

1/5/08  – Hudson – NH – Central Street -  head-on MVA - 4 transported  in two ambulances

1/25/08 – Nashua – NH – 22 Mason Street – 3 alarms – Ladder 2 assisted at a 3 alarm fire which involved a large 2 ½ story home.

2/13/08 – Hudson – NH – 46 Musquash Road – gunshot wound – One person suffered a gunshot wound to the neck -  Trauma Team activated to treat the wound.  

3/10/08 – Litchfield – NH – 12 Woodburn Drive – House fire – Hudson Ladder 2 and Tanker 5 assisted battling a one alarm fire in a condo building. Heavy fire shot from the window as crews entered the building.

4/16/08 – Hudson – NH – 55 Melendy Road – House fire – A working fire was struck for a single family home. Heavy heat hampered crews attacking the blaze. Crews had the fire knocked down in a short time.

4/18/08 – Litchfield – NH – 34 Charles Bancroft Highway – house fire – Engine and Ladder 2 arrived first due before Litchfield crews and quickly contained the fire. Tanker 5, Ambulance 1 and three chief officers from Hudson also responded to the call.

5/16/08 - Hudson – NH – 5 Iris Path – working house fire – A suicidal person set his house on fire during a police standoff. For a time the subject remained in the heavily involved house. He ran out of the house into firefighters suffering severe burns. He was Med-Flighted to Boston and died from his injuries several days later.

5/23/08 – Hudson – NH – A 2008 Pierce Arrow with a 1500 gpm pump, 1000 gallon water tank and 30 Gallon foam tank went into service as Engine 2.

6-16-08 – Hudson – NH – 3 Rena Ave - working fire – On arrival crews found a 2 stall garage fully involved and fire spreading to a 3 story single family home. The fire caused damage to all floors and burned most of the roof off. Crews from Nashua, Pelham, Litchfield and Dracut Mass assisted at the scene.

7-23-08 – Windham – NH – 2 alarms – One Hudson engine responded to the scene on Searles Road after a lightning strike touched off the fire. Crews from Hudson, Pelham, Derry, and Hampstead assisted at the scene.

7-24-08 – Deerfield – NH – F2 Tornado – A tornado cut a path through 11 towns causing the death of one person and severe damage in its path. Ambulance 1 along companies from Derry, Pelham, Merrimack, Salem, Windham responded to the area to assist with rescues.  

7-25-08 – Pelham – NH – 2 alarms – A vacant house on Mont Vernon Drive was heavily involved on arrival of Pelham crews. A Hudson engine alone with crews from Windham, Salem, Londonderry, Litchfield, and Dracut and Lowell Mass assisted at the scene.  

8-30-08 – Litchfield – NH – fatal motorcycle accident – A motorcycle vehicle accident in front of 144 Charles Bancroft Highway led to the death of the motorcycle operator. A Hudson ambulance transported the patient to a local hospital were he died of his injuries.

9-22-08 – Hudson – NH – 5 Highland Street – working fire – On arrival fire was showing  from a small barn attached to and apartment building. Crews had the fire knocked down in 34 minutes.

9-28-08 – Londonderry – NH – 8 Tyler Road – 2 alarms – Two Hudson engines responded to the fire that destroyed a 2 stall garage and caused heavy damage to a 2 story single family home.

10-19-08 – Nashua – NH – 10 Blossom Street – Two buildings suffered heavy damage during a 3 alarm fire. Hudson Ladder 2 responded to the scene.

11-15-08 – Hudson – NH – New Chevy Tahoe chiefs vehicle placed in service

12-9-08 – Hudson – NH – 4 Hilltop Drive – a 2 alarm house fire caused heavy damage to a garage and the second floor of the home. Crews from Nashua, Litchfield, Londonderry and Windham assisted at the scene. 

12 -11, 12, 13, 14, 15 – 08 – Hudson – NH – Severe ice storm hits area crews respond to almost 400 calls for service. Many areas without power until December 23rd.

1/11/09 – Derry – NH – Route 93 North Bound – Ambulance 1 responded to the scene of a 59 vehicle crash during a snow storm. Crews from Derry, Londonderry, Hudson, Pelham, Windham, Goffstown, Bedford, Salem, Tri Town Ambulance, Rockingham Ambulance and Methuen Mass responded to the scene.

 

1/11/09 – Hudson – NH – 24 Hickory Street – a fire in a ceiling fan caused minor damage to the bathroom of the home. First alarm companies had the fire contained in a short time.

 

1/29/09 – Hudson – NH – 5 George Street – Mixed chemicals in the basement office of an electronics company cause a reaction and smoke condition forcing the evacuation of a Medical Building.

 

2/4/09 – Pelham – NH – 220 Mammoth Road – A fire in a large garage required a Hudson Tanker and 2 chief officers along with crews from Windham to assist Pelham knocking down the fire.

 

2/5/09 – Nashua – NH – 56 Amherst Street – Four alarms were struck for a fire in a large 2 ½ story apartment building. All of Nashua’s companies, Hudson’s Ladder and crews from Hollis, Merrimack and Tyngsborough Mass responded to the scene.

 

2/9/09 – Nashua – NH – 126 Vine Street – Seven area towns responded to Nashua after a five alarm fire spread through a very large 3 story building with stores on the first floor and nineteen apartments above. Hudson Ladder 2 remained on the scene for 5 hours battling the blaze. 

 

1/10/09 – Hudson – NH – Lowell & County Roads – The jaws were used to free one trapped occupant after a two vehicle crash.

2/20/09 – Litchfield – NH – 330 Charles Bancroft Highway – Two Hudson ambulances and a Londonderry Rescue assisted Litchfield during a two vehicle head-on crash. One victim was entrapped in her car and the Jaws were needed to free her. She was later taken to Boston for treatment of her injuries.

4/1/09 – Hudson – NH – 5 Twin Meadow Drive – A fire that started on the first floor of a 2 story duplex spread into the attic requiring crews from Nashua, Londonderry and Litchfield to assist knocking down the fire.

4/27/09 – Londonderry – NH - Hickory Hill Road – 2 separate brush fires burned 7 acres of land requiring 3 alarms and crews from Londonderry, Hudson, Pelham, Windham, Derry, Chester, Auburn, Merrimack, Litchfield and a State Forest Ranger and brush truck to control the flames

4/30/09 – Windham – NH -  Marblehead Road – a 15 acre brush fire required 3 alarms, a task force response from the Concord area and apparatus from Windham, Hudson, Pelham, Derry, Londonderry, Hampstead, Salem, Litchfield, Plaistow, Chester, Auburn, Bedford, Sandown, Merrimack, Atkinson, the NH Forest Service to control the blaze.

5/15/09 – Litchfield – NH – 14 West View Drive working fire – On arrival of Litchfield crews a single story house was fully involved Hudson sent a engine, ambulance and chief to the scene.

5/15/09 – Litchfield – NH – 36 Woodhawk Way Haz-Mat – A distraut man pour gasoline over himself and threatened to light it. A Hudson engine, ambulance and chief assisted Litchfield crews contain the gas and ventilate the home.

5/18/09 - Hudson – NH – 10 Dugout Road 2 alarm fire – A propane leak in the 2 story duplex caused an explosion and fire which destroyed the home. On arrival of crews one side of the building was fully involved. Companies from Nashua, Windham, Londonderry, Litchfield and Derry assisted at the scene.

5/26/09 – Pelham – NH – 240 Old Gage Hill Road 2 alarm fire – Hudson Engine 4 responded to the scene as the RIT company while crews knocked down heavy fire in the basement of a large 2 story home.

6/23/09 – Hudson – NH – 12 Kenyon Street working fire – On arrival crews had smoke showing from an attached garage and a working fire was struck. The fire was knocked down in 20 minutes.

7/11/09 – Hudson – NH – Derry at Page Roads fatal motorcycle accident – The operator of a motorcycle died from his injuries after his bike struck a motor vehicle that pulled out in front of him.

8/4/09 – Pelham – NH – 386 Mammoth Road house fire – Engine 4 assisted Pelham crews knocking down a basement fire. Hudson Firefighter Jay Sliver provided oxygen to a cat rescued from the fire and revived it.

 

8/17/09 – Pelham - NH – 563 Mammoth Road 2 alarms – Engine 4 assist Pelham and companies from Windham, Litchfield and Salem battle the fire in a large mobile home. Hudson Ambulance 1 transported the homes residents to the hospital for injuries he received during the fire.

 

9/1/09 – Londonderry – NH – Route 102 at the Flea Market – Engine 2 assisted Londonderry, Litchfield and Windham crews knockdown a fire in three trailers. Engine responded to the scene on the first alarm due to all of Londonderry’s engines were handling other calls at the time.

9/9/09 – Hudson – NH – 77 Derry Road at the Post Office – A fire in the ceiling of the post office was quickly contained by crews.

9/10/09 – Hudson – NH –  9 Sandlewood Drive fatal fall – A resident cutting a tree branch fell from the tree landing on a crowbar which impaled him causing fatal injuries.

11/13/09 – Hudson – NH – 22 West Road wood chipper fire – Mutual aid from Litchfield and Londonderry was needed to control a fire in a large wood chipper at a pallet recycling plant.

12/3/2009 - Hudson - NH - 299 Webster Street partition fire - First alarm crews quickly knocked down a partition fire in a 100 year old home. 

12/27/09 - Londonderry - NH - 55 Spring Road house fire - A ranch style house was totally destroyed with the owner suffering burns after a fire started in a couch. Crews from Hudson, Pelham, Litchfield, Windham and auburn responded to the scene.
