Italianate Style apartment house - Exposure problems on two sides, 2nd,3rd, 4th
alarms sounded in 12 minutes - fire forced about six people to flee - Aftermath
of a fight involving roommates. Several resident of the building were injured
in the fire. Hudson Engine 4 assisted at the scene.

auto pedestrian accident – Kimball Hill Rd at Clement Rd - The late night accident
claimed the life of the female victim as she was on her hands and knees in the
middle of the road and was struck by an unknown driver in a pickup.

reporting the fire. On arrival, a large barn that was used as a function hall
was fully involved and spreading to an attached 2 ½ story house and garage.

and Tyngsboro Mass assisted at the scene. Two firefighters were injured
fighting the fire.

Fatal motor vehicle accident - Spit Brook Road - Rescue 1 responded to the
scene of the head-on crash. Nashua and Hudson crews worked for four hours to
free the bodies of two victims killed in the crash.

Fatal motor vehicle accident - 90 Kimball Hill Road - A head on crash killed
one driver and severely injured two passengers of a second vehicle. The
passengers of the second vehicle were trapped in their car and the Jaws of Life

plant required evacuations. A container with the chemical, zinc oxide some how
caught on fire and spread flames and fumes into the roof area of the building.
Hudson crews evacuated a large area around the plant after fumes and smoke
covered the area.

Drowning - Nashua River - Mines Falls Park - The Dive team responded to the
scene after a 14 year-old boy fell into the river and drowned. Marine 1
responded to the scene to pull the boy from a tree that had caught him under
water. Firefighter Pete Collishaw freed the boy pulling him on the boat. Crews
had a pulse but the boy died at the hospital.

story apartment building 30 feet from the second floor. Firefighters from

Firefighters needed assistance from a porch roof after flames blocked their
escape. Ladder 2’s Aerial was placed to the roof and they evacuated the area.

Motor vehicle accident - Derry Road and
Old Derry Road - 2 Hudson fire officers
were involved in a motor vehicle accident as they drove up Derry Road. A
vehicle struck them pushing their vehicle into a third vehicle. The Trauma Team
was activated for one of the officers for chest injuries. The other officer was
also injured and was taken to the hospital
for treatment. The occupants, of the other two vehicles, injuries ranged from a
Trauma Team activation to treated and released.

a fire started in the kitchen.

5th Alarm - Burke St - Elderly housing complex under construction (near
complete) heavily involved - 8 depts. Mutual Aid - Occurred during the Annual
FF's Ball being held at the Nashua Marriott. A Hudson engine and ladder
assisted at the scene.

Benton leaving her home spotted fire shooting from the windows of the home. On
arrival it was reported that people were trapped in the building. After a
search and knock down of the fire no one was found in the home.

1 alarm fire with fatality - Blackstone Drive - On arrival, smoke was showing
from the ranch style house. As Lieutenant Bob Bianchi and Firefighters Dave
Sassak and Jerry Carrier searched for the seat of the fire, they found a
trapped resident in the living room of the home. The victim was removed but
died a few days later from his injuries.

building. On arrival, heavy fire was showing from the building. Two alarms were
struck bringing crews from Nashua, Pelham, Litchfield, Windham and Tyngsboro
Mass responded to the scene.

arrival, heavy fire was showing from the split level single family home. Crews
got a scare as they tried to get out of Engine 2 because the truck began to
slide down the icy driveway back into the street. A Litchfield Tanker was
called to the scene to assist.

30 foot by 40 foot building. Difficult access hampered firefighters entering
the building. The cafeteria of the building was heavily involved. A Nashua
engine and ladder assisted at the scene.

buildings ductwork.

1 alarm house fire - 81 Highland Street - On arrival, smoke was showing from
the single story home. Crews pulled the homes ceilings to gain entry into the
fire area. The fire was controlled in a short time.

1 alarm house fire extra engine - 81 Highland Street - On arrival,
the building was fully involved with exposure problems. An attack line was
taken into the building but crews were pulled out and a defensive attack was
begun. An extra engine was called to the scene to bring additional manpower to
the scene.

1 alarm house fire - Robinson Pond Drive - A single engine was sent to the area
to check smoke. A caller from across Robinson Pond reported smoke in the area.
On arrival, crews found smoke showing from the rear of a large 2 ½ story home
and requested a first alarm. A deck in the rear of the building was involved in
fire. Crews had the fire quickly controlled with smoke damage to the house.

alarm kitchen fire - 1 Shoal Creek Road - A box alarm notified companies of the
fire and while enroute, a follow up call reported a fire in the building and a
burn victim. On arrival, crews found a kitchen fire contained by sprinklers.
The injured person suffered burns to her body and was taken to Shriners Burn
Center in Boston for treatment.

Fatal motor vehicle accident - Central Street near Lawrence Road - The accident
claimed one life and required the Jaws of Life to free two other trapped
victims. The roof and doors of both vehicles were removed to free all the
victims. The Trauma Team treated the two surviving patients.

1 alarm building fire - Roosevelt Ave - On arrival, heavy smoke was showing
from the one story wood products building. The fire was centered in a spray
booth and the fire was knocked down in a short time but due to the products and
fire load of the building, crews remained on the scene for several hours
looking for hot spots.

the two-stall garage. An extra tanker was requested to the scene for water
supply.

1 alarm house fire extra engine - Abbott Street - On arrival, crews found fire
in a first floor bedroom of the two story home and quickly had the fire knocked
down. An extra engine was called to the scene to assist with overhaul.

- 2 alarm house fire - Woodburn Drive - A 2-story duplex was heavily damaged
after a fire broke out in the basement. Live wires blocked a stairway leading
into the basement and limited access to the fire.

alarm house fire - 2 extra engines - 85 Robinson Pond Drive - A large 2 ½ story
home had heavy fire in the attic on arrival of crews. 2 firefighters were
injured battling the blaze. Due to the limited water supply, extra apparatus
was requested to the scene. Both members suffered burns.

heavily involved on arrival of Windham crews. A Hudson ladder and tanker

Hudson ambulances responded to the scene to assist at the accidents.

story home caused heavy damage to the home. Crews from Hudson and Londonderry
responded to the scene.

Drowning - Cobbetts Pond - The Dive team searched the pond for a teen-ager who
drowned after the row boat he was in capsized.

acre brush fire - David Drive - Crews from Litchfield, Londonderry and Windham
assisted battling the blaze. At one point, high winds allowed the fire to jump
a road. Several lengths of hose were lost as fast spreading flames over ran
fire lines.

venting system caused little damage to the building. Ladders were placed to the
roof and the fire was contained to a roof top unit.

transported victims from the scene.

Brush fire - Gibson Road - A large brush fire required Hudson crews to assist
Pelham controlling the fire. The fire rekindled the next day and again required
Hudson to assist with controlling the fire.

Haz-Mat - Hudson Park Drive - A mixture of chemicals caused a reaction that
spread fumes throughout the building. A haz-mat team was called to the scene to
handle the problem.

person suffered smoke inhalation attempting to extinguish the fire and was

Fatal motor vehicle accident - Central Street - Retired Fire Captain Roger
Spooner died from injuries he sustained in a head-on crash involving three
vehicles. Four other people were injured including Captain Spooner’s wife who
was treated by a trauma team. The Jaws of Life and ambulances from Windham,
Londonderry and Pelham responded to the scene.

stove spread into the walls and attic. A Nashua engine and ladder assisted at
the scene.

- Six Worcester Firefighters died after becoming trapped during a 5-alarm fire.
The fire was in a 5 story cold storage building. The last firefighters body was
found several days after the fire.
